72% beyond its official range in a showroom-spec car, though at an average speed below 30 km/h.

An Audi A6 Sportback e-tron performance has covered 1,338 kilometers (831 miles) across Poland on one battery charge. That set the Guinness World Record for the longest distance driven by a production electric car without recharging. The driver was reigning European Rally Champion Miko Marczyk.

How the record was set

Marczyk set off at 1:55 a.m. on September 11 from Zakopane. He followed the Vistula through Kraków, Sandomierz, Warsaw, Toruń and Grudziądz to Hel on the Baltic coast, then drove back along the same route, in regular traffic including rush hour, at an average of 15°C, dropping to 7°C overnight. More than 45 hours later, the battery ran out between Toruń and Ciechocinek.

The numbers

  • Distance: 1,338 km (831 miles)
  • Average consumption: 7.09 kWh/100 km, under half the official figure
  • Battery: 94.9 kWh usable (100 kWh gross)
  • WLTP range: 777 km, beaten by 72%
  • Previous record: 1,205 km, Lucid Air Grand Touring (July 2025, St. Moritz to Munich)

A standard car

Audi says the car was fully standard, with 367 hp, 0–100 km/h in 5.4 s, and the same battery as any A6 e-tron performance you can order today. The keys were smooth, anticipatory driving, carefully set tire pressures and heavy use of regenerative braking, which can recover up to 220 kW and, according to Audi, handles about 95% of everyday braking.

The reality check

1,338 km in over 45 hours works out to an average below 30 km/h, and highway consumption is roughly three times higher. Don't expect this range on a road trip. What the record does prove is how efficient Audi's latest EV platform has become. For long trips, fast charging matters just as much: the A6 e-tron's platform manages 10–80% in about 21 minutes.
